Production Process
There's nothing particularly special about our production process, no fancy diagrams...
What's important is that we do have a process, it's tried and tested, and provides you with clear idea of how we work and what you can expect from us.
1. Request a quote
All request for quotations are responded to within 1 business day.
The more detailed the briefing documents the more quickly we will be able to provide a ballpark cost and proposed timeline. Anything that we're unclear about we'll clarify before proceeding.
Annotated Information Architecture ("IA")documents and a creative mockup are mandatory. Mockups are used to assess the level of attention that is likely to be required creatively.
2. Ballpark and Proposed Timeline
When the project brief is clearly understood we will respond with an informal ballpark and proposed timeline.
The purpose of this step is to return an indicative cost and timeline as quickly as possible and to ensure both party's time is not wasted in preparation of a more comprehensive fixed project estimate.
Ballpark costs are expected to be within +/- 25% of the final fixed project estimate below.
3. Project Plan and Fixed Project Estimate
These are completed once the informal ballpark and proposed timeline have been agreed on in principle.
To proceed with the work we require a Purchase Order ("PO") number and an authorised Work Order on company letterhead, along with a deposit for the amount of 50% of the total project cost.
Production begins at the agreed start time in the project plan and once the deposit is received.
4. Graphic Preparation
The majority of GLU Client Services projects involve creative being supplied.
The first step in production requires importing, optimising and in some cases re-creating this creative in Flash ready for programming. Adobe Photoshop ("PSD") and or Illustrator ("AI") files, and fonts are required to be provided.
On completion, flat SWF files are provided for creative review and sign-off before proceeding.
5. GLU Platform Setup and Configuration
If you haven't already, we'll require you to register and activate a commercial GLU account.
From within your GLU account, we'll ask you to invite us using the GLU Platform's Project Collaboration feature, and we'll access, set up, and configure the required modules ready for development.
At this point you may be able to begin adding content directly into the project via the GLU Platform as we work.
6. Agile Development Approach
Our development approach is based on Agile Software Development.
Where possible, and depending on the project, our aim is to provide daily updates, frequent deliverables, and iterative testing, reviews, and sign-off points to ensure you're kept close to the project and risk is minimised.
Through close collaboration our aim is to keep production on track and ensure your peace of mind.
7. Final Reviews
Final reviews are minimised by working to multiple sign-off points through-out the development phase.
A holistic systems test and review though is expected once everything is complete to ensure all requirements have been met and that no issues have re-appeared since being reviewed in the development phase.
On final review sign-off the remaining 50% of the project cost is invoiced, final terms being fourteen (14) days.
8. Go-Live!
Go-live involves packaging and delivering all files, including work-files and source code - these are yours to keep.
The Flash SWF and related files can then be deployed to your production server whilst the GLU account you've been logging in under will continue to manage these files.
Post go-live we hope to remain in contact and also follow up to ensure you're happy with everything :)
9. Warranty
We provide a full twelve (12) month warranty on all GLU Client Services work.
We stand behind all our work, so if something was missed and is picked up later, or an issue arises that is our responsibility, we're here to resolve it and ensure you remain happy.
Like all warranties this is void if any updates are made other than by us since providing final packages.
